There are many difficult issues that arise in business. In small business,
situations that affect the smooth flow of business include employee
and business management, and they need to be resolved if the company
is to run smoothly.
Roles and Regulation
The individuals who manage the business of a company must have
clear objectives and direction. There can be several adverse conditions
that must be overcome if the company is to prosper. To do this,
there should be clear descriptions of individual responsibilities
for each member of the organization. When roles are clear there
can be little confusion about job functions in running the business.
Anytime problems arise they will be handled by the concerned employees
and managers, rather than being mishandled by an inexperienced employee
and affecting the entire business.
The management must have its roles defined upon the start of business.
Each person at the top needs to know their role without having to
be concerned about attitudes or egos, otherwise the business will
be headed for disaster at its inception. Having negative issues
at the top level affects the lower staff while issues at the lower
levels can be easily resolved with a strong management structure.
Pace-ful Business
There should be no management issues between the management and
the employees because having problems between levels results in
a slowing of business while resolving the issues. In some organizations
a tyrannical style of lower management is employed to keep things
in check but this is a failure in communication and management skills,
which results in loss of productivity. It is important to treat
the employees well and fairly.
It is obvious that at the center of all management issues is a
failure in communication. The result of such failure can be disastrous
in the decline of potential productivity for the company. It is
important to keep all doors of communication open, and egos and
attitudes should be checked at the door.
