Web designing for mortgage services


Designing a mortgage service is not as hard as it seems. The website would need a database integration and ASP pages that will keep the site updated about fresh things that the current market is all about. We briefly describe in here what web designs would be best for your site if you are in the mortgage business.


The home page or the business page is the most important page in your website and will speak what you are to your customer. A good idea to have on your webpage is data that you can share with your customer about the loans that your visitors can apply for. The first page should also have an appropriate image that would better enhance your site as a picture is worth a thousand words right.

You would need to dedicate at least eight pages to the resources that you can offer to the category called "resources". Some of the common resources could be where your visitors could search rates from all the cities so that your visitor is happy to know that you offer the best rates in town. You will also have to give a link so that if the visitor is impressed he or she can apply for it online and then the sales team can work on that. The addition of a daily market update feature will show them in which direction the market is heading, a column for interest rate trends and Mortgage Point Change. Under the resources column you can also identify Loan programs, Purchase & Refinance.

You can also add tools such as calculators, rate alerts, refinance analysis, check loan status and also include a section in here where the visitor can recommend friends to your site. These tools are a must as they give them the tools to check and verify.

You would need a section that will help explain the loan process to your customer. The visitor would be interested in knowing what procedures they have to follow so that they can apply for mortgages. It would be ideal if one adds a glossary to explain some of the less commonly heard terms that need to be clarified. Build up a list of frequently asked questions that you may think that will be asked and answer them all in the sections marked as FAQ. This will lessen the phone calls made to your office.

Make sure that your website is made up with colors that are pleasant to the eye. You do not want customers to run because of the harsh colors on your site. Do not put more graphics than are necessary on a page. You should also be very sure that the graphics you choose are optimized for faster loading. Graphics is usually what makes the website very slow to load and if that is the case then fewer visitors will visit your site.

Your website should be compatible with most of the browsers that people use in the cyber village. Some of the famous ones are Netscape, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc. By rule of thumb you should always visit your site from the eye of a stranger. If something does not look good than you will know that there is room for improvement. Remember many visitors will walk away to your competitors if they find that your site is difficult to use.
